Veb 0.1

Reference archive: this page documents the original Yab browser. Features, platforms and release dates here do not describe the current Veb prototype. Veb release plans →

The first Veb: a quiet browser for the Mac with AI where you already are. Connect Claude Code or Codex once, with your own plan, and hand it a task, a selection or a question about the page from ⌘J; watch it work in a chat on the right, in tabs of its own, and say yes before anything is sent, paid or deleted.

Added

  • One field for ⌘T and ⌘L in the middle of the window: addresses, search, open tabs, history, bookmarks, commands and settings, with clipboard history, emoji, units, rates, dates and sums in it.

  • Agents: Claude Code or Codex, signed in with your own plan, work in tabs of their own beside yours, or in one of yours when you let them.

  • A chat for every agent conversation, in a column on the right: its steps, its tabs, its questions in its field, a model picked in its head, and every chat kept, searchable and archivable.

  • Selection commands: select text anywhere and ask ⌘J to rewrite, explain or translate it, with a model per command.

  • Agents ask at the page they are about, and Send, Pay and Delete wait for your yes; how much they ask is Ask, Auto or Bypass.

  • Agents can sign in with the passwords Veb keeps, fill a whole form, upload and download files, save a page as a PDF, run on a schedule and remember what they learn about you.

  • Veb from a terminal: `yab "…"` hands over a task, and agents use Veb's tools over MCP; a closed Veb wakes hidden, with no window or Dock tile.

  • Spaces, each with its own look, a color on a field of dots and a grain, and sign-ins of its own if you like.

  • Tabs kept above a line in the column, folders of your own made by holding one tab over another, and today's tabs tidied away each day.

  • Independent windows, split view, peeks beside their tab, and a Force Click to peek at a link.

  • Passwords, passkeys, cards and addresses kept in your keychain and filled for you, and brought in from every browser at once.

  • Bookmarks, history, extensions, spaces and sign-ins brought in from Chrome, Arc, Safari and other browsers.

  • Chrome extensions from the Chrome Web Store.

  • An ad blocker that reads the lists uBlock Origin reads, and anything on a page can be hidden.

  • Page translation, a reading mode, and a page whole as Markdown, clean text or a file for an agent.

  • Capture a part of the page, or all of it, framed and straight to the clipboard.

  • Calls and videos float in a window of their own, and what plays in another tab shows as one line with its controls.

  • The next meeting on a pinned calendar, a link you just copied, and what you open on a schedule show under the empty field.

  • Developer Mode for pages served from this Mac, and Developer Tools in one card on ⌥⌘I.

  • Private tabs, and tabs you haven't looked at for a while sleep and give their memory back.

  • Any shortcut can be given another key in Settings › Shortcuts.

  • Veb updates itself, and Send Feedback is in Settings › About.

  • Veb needs macOS 15.4. Daily active installs are counted with a random install ID; crash reports are sent only if you allow them.
