Veb 0.4

Reference archive: this page documents the original Yab browser. Features, platforms and release dates here do not describe the current Veb prototype. Veb release plans →

An inbox split your way, fuller replies and files, and a browser that puts heavy pages to sleep while keeping your calls and music going.

Added

  • Split Mail by people, domains, labels or Gmail's search, with VIP, Team, Calendar, Receipts and Dev lists you can turn on separately.

  • Reply to everyone, forward, use Bcc, quote selected words, write rich text and add files or a saved snippet.

  • Answer invitations from Mail and insert your free meeting times into a reply.

  • Choose the sites each extension may run on.

  • Site Controls brings page appearance, translation, hidden elements and floating video together.

Improved

  • Triage Mail with the keyboard, select several threads and take an action on them together, with Undo.

  • Mail notifications, reminders, read statuses and search across older messages.

  • New Tab, New Window and Split View ask over the page you are on; closing the last tab keeps its page until you open another or go back.

  • Heavy background pages sleep to save memory, and a page that keeps crashing stops reloading until you choose Try Again.

  • Developer Tools stays usable in narrow cards and docks beside its page again.

  • Appearance options, linked colors, floating sidebar reach and the call's shared-screen view.

Fixed

  • Calls, sound, floating video and downloads keep their pages alive, including pinned tabs, when memory is short.

  • An agent's memory reload leaves ongoing media and unsent drafts alone.

  • Quick Look closes at once, so Space and Escape keep the attachment's keyboard selection in step.

  • Browser shortcuts reach the page first where it needs them; navigation keys preserve text editing.

  • Existing browser data and saved autofill move safely to Veb's own name.

  • File uploads keep Veb’s picker when a site removes its upload menu; full file paths work in search.

  • Page resizing, initial window focus and opening a preview as a tab behave correctly.

  • Extension scripts no longer accumulate during page appearance updates.

  • Empty folders keep their custom icons after a restart, and folder marks are easier to see.
