Veb 0.13

Reference archive: this page documents the original Yab browser. Features, platforms and release dates here do not describe the current Veb prototype. Veb release plans →

Tabs across the top open at the end, Google's own icons, and Translate into any language.

Added

  • Translate To

A page's right-click menu has Translate To beside Translate Page: any language macOS translates into, the Mac's own languages first. Site Controls says which language the page went to.

  • Put Tab to Sleep

A tab's own menu puts it to sleep, a pinned or kept tab too. Veb still never puts those to sleep by itself.

  • Network in Detail in sight

DevTools' Network list leads to Network in Detail, WebKit's full view with its timeline, headers and timing, on the request you picked.

Improved

  • New tabs at the end

With the tabs across the top, a tab you open with ⌘T or + goes at the end of the strip, beside the plus. The sidebar keeps Arc's order.

  • Downloads beside its neighbors

The Downloads button in the address bar is the size of the buttons beside it.

  • Reading Mode at the tab's end

The Reading Mode book sits at the end of a tab across the top and stays put when you point at it.

  • Arrows go round

↑ from the first row of the field's list goes to the last, and ↓ from the last back to the first.

  • 1Password says how to connect

While the 1Password app doesn't let Veb in, its row in Settings › Extensions says so, and how to add Veb in 1Password's settings.

  • Dia's profiles from Settings

Bring In from Dia in Settings brings each profile into a space of its own, signed in as it was in Dia, as the welcome does, and lists profiles with no window open too. When Dia's tabs can't be read, it says why.

Fixed

  • Your plan by name

With only ChatGPT connected, Veb says ChatGPT, not Claude: in the field, the task line, the Store and Settings, and Auto runs tasks on it.

  • Google's own icons

Google Drive, Calendar, Gmail and Maps show their own icons instead of Google's G.

  • The sidebar stays put

A put-away sidebar no longer comes out when you click a page's button near the window's top left corner, such as the × of a picture on X.

  • The window's buttons on hover

Pointing at the window's three buttons shows all their marks every time.
