Tabs that drag smoothly, ad blockers as fast as in Chrome, password managers that connect in one step, and Claude's Chrome extension in the side panel.

Added

  • Claude in the side panel

Claude's Chrome extension signs in and can read and click on the page.

  • More of Chrome's extension API

Omnibox keywords, tab groups, site settings, the reading list, downloads, tab and screen capture, proxies and Save as MHTML work as in Chrome.

  • Userscripts

A .user.js link offers to install in Tampermonkey, as in Chrome.

  • Password managers

A manager already on this Mac shows in Settings › Passwords with Connect; connecting opens in one frame instead of 1.8 s.

  • DevTools find

⌘F searches the Elements tree, and in Network and Sources every loaded resource, with the matches lit.

Improved

  • New tabs

A new tab shows in about 0.1 s instead of 0.16 s: each window keeps one ready.

  • Ad blockers

With an ad blocker, a new tab opens as fast as in Chrome with the same blocker: about 85 ms instead of 110.

  • Sidebar and spaces

Showing the sidebar and switching spaces do about half the work they did, with fewer dropped frames.

  • Pickers

A list with a search field takes your typing as soon as it opens.

  • DevTools per tab

DevTools belong to the tab they were opened on, and come back when it does.

  • Hover

Pinned tabs and the address bar light up under the pointer as in Arc, and the squares behind a tab's buttons follow its corner.

  • Plans

A chat keeps the plan it started on. A new chat starts on ChatGPT only when Claude is out of room and ChatGPT is connected, and says so.

Fixed

  • Dragging tabs

A dragged tab stays under the pointer, glides into place when let go, and a new folder shows the plain folder mark with no count.

  • Swiping spaces

The column coming in is drawn under the pointer from the first frame; nothing pops in at the end.

  • Extension buttons

An extension asking you to sign in sits with the others and shows on hover; its badge no longer covers the pin, and pinned extensions can be reordered.

  • Downloads

A download that opens a blank tab closes it when the file is in, as in Chrome; files dragged from Downloads keep their names.

  • Sidebar in Split View

Showing and hiding the sidebar in a Split View works every time, also after switching between tabs on top and the sidebar.

  • Display on the left

The hidden sidebar no longer comes out when the pointer moves to a display beside the window.

  • Split View tools

Both halves of a Split View show the screenshot and downloads buttons, on hover for the half behind.

  • Claude sign-in

A Claude Code signed in through the keychain is no longer taken for signed out.
