Shift-click a link and it opens over the page you’re on. Close it, and you’re right where you were.

⇧-clickForce Click

⇧-click a link, or Force Click it on a trackpad, and its page opens in a panel over the one you are reading. The page behind dims and stays exactly as it was.

A peek belongs to its tab: switch away and it hides, come back and it is there. Links to meetings always open as tabs, and ⌘-click still opens a tab.

From a pinned tab#

Links to other sites from a pinned tab open as peeks, so the pin stays where it was, as in Arc. From a pin’s peek, ⇧⌘O puts the page beside a copy of the pin, in Split View.
