Translating a page

A page in another language, translated in place on your Mac.

Veb translates a page in place with Apple’s own translation, on your Mac: nothing is sent anywhere. It translates into your Mac’s first language, or another you choose.

  1. Press ⌘E for Site Controls, or click the lock in the address bar.
  2. Open its ⋯ menu.
  3. Choose Translate to …. Show Original, in the same menu, puts it back.

Or right-click the page for Translate Page to …, in your Mac’s first language, or Translate To for any language macOS translates into.

The first time, macOS may offer to download the languages. Text the page adds after translating stays as it was, and a new page starts in its own language.
